Maximizing Your Investment Recovery while Protecting the EnvironmentCalifornia Pipe Recycling, Inc. (CPR) was originally started to recover pipeline assets from major oil and gas companies. At its inception it brought together its founders' over 65 years' experience with reconditioning and finding secondary markets for pipe and steel products that had become obsolete to their original purpose.
Expertise in Helping Clients Meet Regulatory RequirementsThe company initially focused on reconditioning pipeline assets and the proper disposal and treatment of the waste streams such as PCBs and asbestos that had to be properly dealt with prior to reselling and recycling the steel.Diversification into Multi-faceted Investment Recovery
It was through the collaboration with local air boards -- Cal-OSHA, the EPA, the DTSC, and many other agencies -- that CPR developed its procedures, policies and permits to legally remove these materials in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. By recycling steel pipe, CPR has reduced landfill volume on some projects by as much as 96% by volume to preserve natural resources without further polluting the environment.Beyond environmental preservation, recovery of the full economic value of these assets was a key objective of our major oil and gas customers. In 2008, therefore, CPR ventured out to manage more than just pipeline assets.Bottom Line:
An Investment Recovery Division was formed and centrally located in Houston, TX. This division manages all types of energy industry assets and consults with clients on the proper management and disposition of them in accordance with the time allowed and financial expectations, as well as with the environmental issues associated with the material.
CPR uses auctions aggressively to meet its clients' needs, but CPR is more than just an auction house. Many different disposition strategies are used to minimize cost and maximize the cash return to clients, such as negotiated sales, sealed bids, donations and scrap management, as well as auctions.CPR is no longer just a "pipe company" -- we are committed to preserving the environment and maximizing our clients' return on any asset that becomes obsolete to the original purpose.
